Queenstown Jetboat Prices & How to Book (No.1 Shotgun Jetboat)
Queenstown has tons of activities to offer, including bungee jumping, paragliding, and Nevis swinging, but one of the most thrilling things you can do on the water is a shotgun jetboat ride. We'll tell you how much the #1 Queenstown jetboat costs and where you can book it.
Queenstown Jetboat
The first thing you'll see when you arrive in central Queenstown is the breathtaking, wide, pristine Lake Wakatipu. As you look out over the lake, you'll often see Queenstown's many jet boats, both large and small, racing across the water.
The reason I think so is because the Shotover Jet is a jetboat that runs through canyons, unlike many other jetboats that run over vast lakes.
Queenstown Jet Boat Prices
As you walk around the center of Queenstown, you'll see price boards for a number of activities. These price boards will give you an idea of how much a Queenstown jet boat ride will cost.
A typical Queenstown jet boat ride costs $99 (about $80). If you look at the price list, you'll see that the prices for other activities are outrageous. While not a jet boat, a slow boat cruise on the lake is $59 (about $50).

There are two main ways to get to the Shot Over Jet. If you have your own car, you can drive to any of the rides above, or you can take the free shuttle bus from the center of Queenstown.
You'll see a red sign that says SHOTOVER JET, and you can take the free white Shotover Jetboat shuttle bus up the street.
Those taking the free shuttle bus must enter the building to check in, and do so at least 45 minutes before their scheduled shotgun jetboat ride.

In addition to these individual purchases, you can also purchase as a family. For two adults and two children (ages 5-15), that's $407.
This price is also good until September 30, 2024, and will increase to the Family Pass price of $433 from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025. In addition to age, children must be at least 1 meter tall, so it's worth keeping that in mind when booking as a family.
The same goes for Klook, a popular travel and activity booking site around the world. Whether you're booking for adults, kids, or a family, it's the same price as the official website.
There is a slight discount on the New Zealand Tours website, where you can book it for $149 for adults and $85 for children.
Shot Over Jetboat Scene
Now we're at the most fun of Queenstown's jetboat rides, the Shot Over Jet, where the water is really thin. After boarding, we're going to sprint under the bridge you see over there.
If you're driving your own car, you can also park down by the river, as shown in the foreground photo. But don't worry about parking, there's plenty of room in the parking lot before you come down.
The Shotgun Jetboat building has a small gift shop, restrooms, and a video of the Shotgun Jetboat that you can view and purchase.
