How to find a room for a single couple in Queenstown (Flatmate)
New Zealand is a country where many people move to different cities for work or travel. Queenstown, a major tourist city, is no exception, with many people moving in and out of the city, and we're here to help you find the fastest way to find a room for rent for singles in Queenstown.
How to find a room for a single couple in Queenstown on Flatmate
Queenstown is a small town of 10,000 people, but a city that attracts nearly as many tourists.
Flatmate is a unique living arrangement in New Zealand where you have your own room in an entire house, but share the living room, kitchen, and bathroom with others. These other people can be friends or acquaintances, but most of the time they are complete strangers.
In Korea, people may be resistant to the idea of living with other people because they live in families, but in New Zealand, Australia, and many other countries, flatmates are a common practice.
Use the Facebook Flatmate Finder Group
There are many ways to find a room for singles in Queenstown, but I personally find that the fastest way to find a room is through Facebook groups.
Facebook is the most used messenger in New Zealand, and the Facebook groups are a very active community. If you're single or a couple, you can find a room here very easily and quickly.

I can't really say for sure because it really depends on the condition of the room, and I personally think Flatmate rooms in Queenstown are more expensive than any other city in New Zealand.
Where to get a room for a single couple in Queenstown
When you're looking for a room in Queenstown, one of the things you'll probably want to keep in mind is where you'll be working. If you're a tourist or short-term resident, you won't need to worry about this, but if you're going to be in Queenstown for the medium to long term, the location of your work and home is very important.
First, the main street is Queenstown's main drag, with plenty of places to eat and see, from hotels to restaurants to activities. As such, there are plenty of jobs to be had, though many of them are within the hospitality industry rather than specialized jobs.
If you get a room in or near the center of town, you can walk back and forth, which is great. You'll also save on transportation costs.
The second is the Frankton neighborhood. This neighborhood is more popular with locals than tourists, as there are many large supermarkets (such as Parkin Save) that sell basic necessities, groceries, etc.
There are a lot of sales jobs here, like retail, but there are also hotels and restaurants, so you can also work in hospitality.
Frankton is the hub of Queenstown's transportation, with all buses passing through here, so living near it means you can get to almost every part of Queenstown with ease.
