Campervan JUCY in New Zealand

For many visitors to New Zealand, traveling in a campervan is a must-do. The beauty of traveling in a campervan is that you can travel on your own schedule, with no time constraints.

Of course, if you're traveling in a regular rental car, you can still travel according to your own plans, but you'll have the added expense of finding a place to stay at night.

But, I think that's what makes campervan travel so appealing to travelers: the ability to enjoy the trip when and where you want, day or night. It's a very special traveling companion that lets you go when you want to go, rest when you want to rest, and sleep when you want to sleep.

The New Zealand campervan JUCY is a favorite among campervan travelers for its vibrant colors and design, and today we're going to tell you all about it.

If you've ever thought about traveling around New Zealand in a campervan, you may have been stumped by the cost. The promo code officially offered on the JUCY website seems to have come to an end.

Campervan JUCY Condo in New Zealand

In my personal opinion, the most popular JUCY models are the Condo and Chaser. I've rented the Condo model myself.

The Condo is based on 4 people and the Chaser is based on 3 people, and the Chaser has a shower that the Condo does not. Since my itinerary wasn't very long, I didn't think I needed a shower and chose Condo.

Open the middle door of the Jucy Condo and you'll see the same interior as above. The Jucy Condo has a driver's seat, a passenger seat, and two more seats in the middle, for a total of four people. The cushioned seat part can be made into a mat for resting or sleeping during stops.

Jucy Condo also has the same arrangement of porta-potties as above. It's a simple toilet that you can sit on, and it's under a cushioned seat. I didn't use it because I didn't want to bother cleaning it.

You'll see two more seats in the middle of the car, and the top of the driver's seat is equipped with a bedding for sleeping.

You can make the middle of the car into a sleeping area by filling it with plates, and then take down the bedding and turn the empty space into a sleeping area like this one.

I climbed on top and laid down, and I found it to be quite cozy. For reference, I'm 175cm tall and had no issues with the depth, but I can imagine that people over 185cm might find the space lacking.

The countertop in the back of the car has a sink and gas stove, with a refrigerator and cooking utensils underneath. Of course, there are also some light cooking utensils in the area by the ceiling in the back, so you won't need to bring any utensils.

In the photo above, the one on the left was taken when we went tracking in the Mount Cook Hooker Valley, and the one on the right was taken when we went to Wanaka. It's so nice to be able to pull up anywhere and not have to worry about food and accommodation.

There was plenty of space for cooking, washing dishes, etc. There is also an attached table next to the fridge that can be used as a table. The refrigerator space seemed to be more than enough for our trip.

Jucy Condo Gas Cylinder

When using and returning a JUCY campervan, you must keep the vehicle's oil and gas topped up as you use it. Typically, you will receive a full tank when you first take delivery of your Jucy campervan.

Queenstown Car Wash

When you return your campervan, make sure it's as clean and tidy as when you first received it. You're welcome to clean it yourself, but you've been traveling for a long time and the exterior will be very dirty.

In this case, a car wash is a great option, and not far from the JUCY office in Queenstown is Queenstown Car Wash (open 24 hours). They can do everything from vacuuming your car to washing it externally, so I've included the map above in case you need to use it.
