Learn about bus route changes in Queenstown (from June 30, 2025)
Queenstown, New Zealand has a bus route change. Effective June 30, 2025. The big changes are the re-routing of buses 2 and 4, and then there are some minor changes to the bus schedule overall. I'll explain them briefly below.
Queenstown, New Zealand bus routes
In Queenstown, New Zealand, buses are numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
In particular, the Arrow Townfor those traveling to Queenstown. As a reminder, buses in Queenstown require cash or BeeCardis required.
Queenstown Bus Route 2
Queenstown bus 2 was originally a route from Arrowtown to Arthurs Point via the Frankton hub, and vice versa from Arthurs point to Arrowtown via the Frankton hub.
However, bus 2 no longer goes to Arthurs Point. In the map above, red is the old bus route and blue is the new route. It goes all the way to the Frankton hub.
Queenstown Bus Route 4
Queenstown bus 4 now goes from Arrowtown to Jack's point via Arthurs point, Queenstown (central) and Frankton hub. Of course, it also runs in the opposite direction.
The old #4 bus used to only go to and from Jack's point at the Frankton hub. There are two ways to get to the Frankton hub from Arrowtown.
You can either go through Lake Heyes like bus 2 above or take a detour around Arthurs point, queenstown like bus 4.
Note that this change does not appear to have changed the routes of buses 1, 3, and 5.

With the changes to the Queenstown bus routes, there are also changes to the bus timetables. Below we've provided a downloadable file of the bus timetables for each bus, so you can use them if you need them.

Even if you have a bus schedule, buses are often late and sometimes early.
I use it a lot, especially when I'm waiting for a bus at a stop. When I'm waiting for a bus according to the timetable above and it doesn't come at that time.
